THAR SHE BLOWS!

Much criticism has been directed at Iceland for its whaling practices.  However, here at LákiTours we hunt whales with the naked eye and binoculars only!  The only way we shoot whales is with cameras.  Whales are the giants of the sea but even so, they can be very difficult to find.  However, our Orca trips have had a great success rate of seeing these beautiful creatures.

Come and see the fjord filled with frenzied orcas feeding on the herring run. 

For the past four years, the herring have chosen Grundarfjörður as their port of call and right behind them are the killer whales.   This phenomenon provides a golden opportunity to see (and hear)  the vast number of Orcas swimming in the fjord.  It is possible to get right up close with the Láki Tours boat trip to watch the whales  and  hear them as they blow.  This trip is a perfect opportunity to take unique photographs of these massive mammals enjoying a feast of herring, day after day.

Departure times: 10.00 am or 2:00 pm every day depending on weather conditions (from Jan to April)
Duration: 1,5 to 2 hours
Prices: 7500 kr per person, children under 10 free, 11 to 15 years - 50% off.  These prices are subject to change without notice.
Clothing:  VERY warm clothing essential - hats, gloves, scarves. Láki Tours does provide warm overalls
                for these tours as well.
